OREANDA-NEWS In the French commune of Rambouillet, a 49-year-old police officer was wounded by a man. The woman died. This information is reported by the BFMTV TV channel.

The incident took place on April 23 in the afternoon. An unknown person with a knife attacked a woman who was dealing with administrative issues at the commissariat, and hit her several times in the throat.

The man himself died due to wounds received during the arrest. According to the TV channel, he had Tunisian citizenship, and he arrived in France in 2009.

As the representative of the trade union SGP Police-FO Unit Francois Bersani told the media, the attacker shouted "Allahu akbar!" during the attack.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanen and Prime Minister Jean Kasteks left for the scene. The head of the French government expressed support for the relatives of the murdered woman and called the incident "a barbaric act of endless cowardice".
