OREANDA-NEWS. In the capital of Finland, an explosion occurred in the Helsinki City Theater, local  police reported. One person was injured.

It is known that the accident occurred in the sprinkler room. The cause of the explosion is still unknown; specialists are trying to establish it.

Correspondent of the Finnish state television and radio company Yle reported that journalists are not allowed into the theater building.

Theater Technical Director Antti Rehtijarvi stated that the explosion unexpectedly occurred during planned maintenance work. At that moment, there were about a hundred people in the building. The theater is currently preparing for the next season and rehearsing. The victim was hospitalized, Rehtijarvi added.
