OREANDA-NEWS Japanese authorities evacuated about 570 thousand residents due to the approaching typhoon Krosa. This was reported by Xinhua.

The typhoon threatens flooding and landslides of more than 270 thousand dwellings on the islands of Shikoku and Kyushu. The Japan Meteorological Agency raised the threat level to a fourth out of five. It means that residents are advised to leave their homes as soon as possible and evacuate to safe areas due to a severe storm.

The typhoon influenced the country's transport system: 673 domestic flights were canceled due to the typhoon. In addition, the West Japan Railway Company has restricted Shinkansen high-speed trains.

This is the tenth typhoon that formed this year in the Pacific Ocean.
