OREANDA-NEWSThe Israeli authorities do not intend to cancel the visa-free regime with Russia after the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced on Tuesday by Israeli Chargé d'Affaires of Russia Elie Belotserkovsky at an online briefing organized by the Unified Information Center of Jewish organizations in Russia.

"There is a visa-free regime between our countries. I think that it will continue in the future. From the Israeli side, no changes are expected in this direction", the diplomat said. Since 2008, a visa-free regime for tourist trips has been in force between Israel and Russia. The diplomat added that Israel will open borders for foreign tourists, including travelers from Russia, only after the resumption of domestic tourism.

“The issue of opening borders for foreign tourists will be decided at a later stage, because at the moment Israel has no regular flights with any country”, said Belotserkovsky. “First we will open the field of local tourism, that is, inside Israel”.
