OREANDA-NEWS The Japanese authorities refused to let foreign volunteers into the country to participate in the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo due to the risks of the spread of coronavirus infection. This information is reported by the TASS agency, referring to the foreign agency Kyodo.

According to the agency, the Japanese authorities see the greatest danger in the penetration of new strains of coronavirus into the country. At the same time, the possibility of making an exception for those volunteers who know rare foreign languages is being considered. The question of organizing their entry into Japan will be considered separately.

Earlier, the Japanese authorities imposed additional restrictions on the upcoming Olympic Games. The limitations are in reducing the number of people in the groups accompanying foreign leaders at the event. Thus, representatives of the embassies were called on to limit the number of members of the groups accompanying the heads of state to 11 people, and ministers to four.
