OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus will never be part of any state, even Russia. This was announced on Thursday by President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with parliamentarians. “We never intended and aren't going to be part of any state, even fraternal Russia”, the Belarusian News Agency quoted him as saying.

Lukashenko noted that Russia is a strategic partner of Belarus, and the good neighborly relations of the two countries have passed the test of time. “I’ll say the main thing, the Russian Federation is our strategic partner, and our brothers live there. This is a partner in the economic, political and military spheres. The Belarusian-Russian good neighborly relations are time-tested”, he added.

Lukashenko stressed that at present, the closest attention is focused on the Belarusian-Russian relations, and interest in their development goes far beyond the borders of the states themselves. According to the head of state, Belarus and Russia at the talks on the development of integration do not discuss the topic of political interaction, including the creation of a single parliament.
