The protesters blocked the section of the highway AP7 in the area of ​​the municipality of La Junker. The rally was organized by the separatist movement "Democratic Tsunami", which expects that the action will last until Wednesday. Supporters of the independence of Catalonia blocked the road on Monday morning, which caused long traffic jams on the highway. Thus, the protesters want to draw the attention of the international community to the situation in Catalonia.

The protesters stocked up on food, some pitched tents. The number of protesters is expected to increase during the day. The authorities of Spain and France have already discussed a possible plan of action in case the action continues. So far, law enforcement officers have not used force against protesters. Earlier, the Democratic Tsunami promised to stage protests from November 11 to 13 after an extraordinary general election in Spain.
