The armed forces of the country are also involved in fighting the fire, since the rescue services cannot cope with the elements on their own. The correspondent of the publication Fanny Haergestam says that of the 65 dead, 25 were servicemen.

In Russia, the first victim of forest fires that are now raging in Yakutia has been recorded. A worker on a tractor burned alive in the Churapchinsky district, local media report. Now there are more than 170 wildfires on the territory of the republic. The fire spread to 6.6 million hectares. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin instructed the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to fly to Yakutia to manage the extinguishing group.
