OREANDA-NEWS  The Kremlin "deeply regrets" in connection with the support of the UN General Assembly resolution of Ukraine, which expressed concern about the "militarization of the Crimea", parts of the Black and Azov Seas. This was stated by the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. "We can only express our disagreement with this position and our regret," he said.

According to Peskov, the Crimea is  "an integral part "of Russia, the Peninsula "reunited with Russia as a result of the free will of the Crimeans." According to this information, the entry of Crimea into Russia took place "in strict accordance with the legislation in force at that time in Ukraine". "We will certainly continue to consistently explain our position," the press Secretary added.

The meeting of the UN General Assembly was held on December 17, at which 66 members of the organization supported the resolution proposed by Kiev, which condemned the opening of the Crimean bridge and the detention of Ukrainian warships by Russian border guards. Russia's actions in the UN considered "unjustified". 19 States voted against the resolution, 72 more abstained.

After the adoption of the Resolution, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced "another important step towards de-occupation of Crimea". "The resolution showed a clear assessment by the international community of the Kremlin's continuing illegal behavior," the Ukrainian President said.

The Head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov called the "round of stupidity" support of the General Assembly of the Kiev Resolution. "Already all who could, managed to understand that to go on an occasion at the leadership of Ukraine-absolutely useless and hopeless action", — Aksenov emphasized.

First Deputy permanent representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky called the group that supported the Resolution, which by its actions encourage "Ukrainian wards for new crimes and provocations." The head of the international Committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev considered the adopted resolution "useless", which could lead to an escalation of the conflict in the region. He wrote about it on Facebook.

"Kiev unleashes hands on any steps, even the most insane. Given the soon expiring martial law and inexorably approaching elections in Ukraine, there is no reason not to believe that the Ukrainian government is ready for such steps," Kosachev said.
