OREANDA-NEWSThe Kremlin considers as absurd the mention in the report of US special prosecutor Robert Muller of information about contacts with the American side of a number of representatives of big business of the Russian Federation. This was announced to journalists on Friday by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

He commented on the information from the Muller report on contacts of such businessmen as Alfa Bank co-owner Pyotr Aven, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev and former head of VEB (in 2016-2018) Sergey Gorkov, with the Americans, number related to the election headquarters at the time of the presidential candidate from the Republican Donald Trump. Peskov did not agree with the fact that Russian businessmen by these contacts only hurt Russian foreign policy.

“Nobody hurt anyone. This is the essence of the work of these businessmen, and describing the contacts of such businessmen in such documents is absurd,” said Peskov.

"Yesterday, the Russian president received French businessmen who work here - and why now, Prosecutor General Yury Chaika to write a report on the interference of the French in the Russian elections? It's absurd, these businessmen have such work: they invest money, they attract capital from the RDIF, they are interested in communicating, they are looking for new and new contacts, they communicate with relevant officials in the government, the Ministry of Economic Development and so on, "the Kremlin representative said.

According to him, such communication of businessmen with colleagues and officials takes place in all states and, “fortunately, such an absurdity as in the Muller report in other countries does not reach.”
