OREANDA-NEWS. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki fears that if "thousands" of migrants cannot be contained now, then "hundreds of thousands" and "millions" will soon rush to Europe.

“If we cannot now contain thousands of migrants, then soon hundreds of thousands, millions will head to Europe. in particular to Germany. There are over 80 million people in Germany - would you allow another 50 million to come? I suppose people in Germany would not be happy about that, because they want to maintain their standard of living. They want to preserve their culture. " said Morawiecki in an interview with the Bild tabloid.

According to the Polish prime minister, now the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border is "stable", but it "is becoming more and more dangerous."

"Belarus uses migrants as a weapon. Their (migrants') target is Germany, France, the Netherlands. Thus, we protect the whole of Europe on our border," Moravetsky said.

The Polish prime minister gave an affirmative answer to the question of whether the migration policy of the Federal Chancellor (now Acting Chancellor) of Germany, Angela Merkel, failed several years ago.

"I think that the policy five or six years ago was not an adequate policy. It threatened the sovereignty of many European states and created an artificial multiculturalism. It was a dangerous policy for Europe and for the whole world," Moravetsky said.
