OREANDA-NEWS. The loss of Crimea is the fault of former President Viktor Yanukovych. This opinion was expressed by another former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during questioning.

«Former Ukrainian President Yanukovych is responsible for the loss of a part of the territory, which the whole world and international law consider as Russian aggression,» the Ukraine's former leader said during the broadcast conducted by the Ukrainian TV. He added that while in the Crimea in 2014, he saw the Russian military there.

The Kiev's Oblonskiy District Court is considering a criminal case of state fraud against Viktor Yanukovych. Petro Poroshenko and Arseniy Yatsenyuk are witnesses. At the end of last year, the court passed a guilty verdict and sentenced him to 13 years of colony in absentia. Lawyers have filed an appeal.

Earlier, incumbent Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky named Petro Poroshenko's main mistake. According to him, Poroshenko still considers himself a Ukrainian leader.

Several criminal cases have also been initiated against Poroshenko himself in Ukraine. One of the last charges was suspicion of giving an «illegal order» to the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.
