OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following the G20 summit said that he talked with Donald Trump "on feet."

According to the Russian leader, he answered the questions of his American counterpart about the incident in the Black sea in a few words.

"He has his own position on these issues and problems, I have my own, we remained at our opinion, but, in any case, I informed him about our vision of this incident," the Russian leader said.

Putin expressed regret that it was not possible to fully communicate with the American President. He noted that this meeting is long overdue. According to the Russian President, this is due to issues of strategic stability, especially after Trump announced the US intention to withdraw from the Treaty on medium-range and shorter-range missiles.

Commenting on the reasons for the refusal of the President of the United States from full-fledged negotiations, Putin noted that his colleague is "an experienced and adult" and is unlikely to be afraid of anything.

The Russian President recalled that it was originally planned to hold a bilateral meeting in Paris, during the celebrations on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First world war, but this meeting was canceled, not wanting to destroy the schedule of work within the framework of commemorative events, "so as not to create problems for the hosts"

"I moved to Buenos Aires. But, unfortunately, we faced this provocation in the Black sea," Putin said, suggesting that it was for these reasons that the United States considered it expedient not to hold the meeting.

At the same time, the Russian leader expressed hope that the meeting with trump will take place when the US is ready. Putin stressed that he did not put any preconditions for these negotiations.

Putin's meeting with Trump was planned "on the sidelines" of the G20 summit in Argentina. It was assumed that the heads of state would discuss bilateral issues, including how to break the deadlock in Russian-American relations.
