OREANDA-NEWSSince January 6, 2020, Russian agricultural supervision has imposed restrictions on the supply of citrus fruits from China due to the detection of quarantine pests in these products. The corresponding decision was made by the department on December 30, 2019.

Russian experts have systematically identified hazardous quarantine facilities in products exported from China, so supply restrictions will remain in force until this country takes corrective measures. Other products shipped from China do not comply with safety requirements. Russian agricultural supervision expects from the Chinese side concrete proposals to ensure compliance of products exported from China with Russian phytosanitary requirements.

According to the agency, for 11 months of 2019, 38.6 thousand tons of potatoes, 432 thousand tons of vegetables, 240.6 thousand tons of fruits, including 151.2 thousand tons of citrus fruits, were delivered to Russia from China. The volume of citrus deliveries from China to Russia in 2019 amounted to 180 thousand 076 tons of the total volume of imports of these products in the Russian Federation in the amount of 1 million 682 thousand 729 tons.
