OREANDA-NEWS  On Friday, March 8, it became known that the black sea fleet (BSF) held joint exercises with the naval forces (Navy) of Turkey. So, the crew of the patrol ship "Vasily Bykov" and a sea trawler "Valentine Pikul" and Corvette "Burgazada" and minesweeper "Van" worked elements of the interaction and maneuvering in the Black sea, as well as the wire of a group of ships in the zone of possible mine risk.

"During the exercise, the patrol ship "Vasily Bykov" and a sea trawler "Valentine Pikul" Novorossisk military-sea base held a joint Turkish-Russian military exercises with foreign Corvette "Burgazada" and minesweeper "Akcay", - stated in the message.

The crews worked out the elements of interaction and maneuvering in the black sea, as well as the wire of the detachment of ships in the zone of possible mine danger. It should be noted that after the exercises, Turkish ships left the port of Novorossiysk: visiting a foreign port was one of the elements of the maneuvers "Blue Motherland - 2019" conducted by the Turkish military command.

According to the plan of stay, representatives of the city administration and the commander of the Novorossiysk naval base visited Turkish ships. There was also a ceremony of laying wreaths by Turkish and Russian sailors to the Eternal flame on the "Walk of Fame" of the hero city of Novorossiysk and a visit by the inhabitants of the ships.

On Thursday, the command of the Novorossiysk military naval base and representatives of the Turkish Navy laid wreaths and flowers to the wall of memory of the "Sons of the Fatherland" on the Walk of Fame of the hero city.

Earlier it was reported that the Corvette "Burgazada" and minesweeper "Akçay" on 6 March made a routine visit to the port of Novorossiysk within the framework of national exercises of the Turkish Navy "Blue homeland - 2019", one element of which is a visit to a foreign port.
