OREANDA-NEWS The protests began after the appearance of the Russian parliamentarian in the country's parliament.

On the eve, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree stating that flights of Russian airlines to Georgia have been suspended.

The decree will come into force on July 8.

The Kremlin explained the situation by the fact that the suspension of flights to Georgia was dictated by the need to preserve Russia's national security and prevent threats to Russian citizens.

Tensions between countries remain high, 11 years after the armed conflict in South Ossetia in August 2008.
