Russia Supported Call for a Truce in Libya in Connection with Ramadan

OREANDA-NEWS. Russia supports calls for a humanitarian truce in Libya in connection with the onset of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims.
As indicated in the Russian diplomatic service, the parties exchanged views on the latest development of the military-political and humanitarian situation in Libya. "The Russian side reaffirmed the principled position in favor of resolving topical issues on the Libyan agenda by the Libyans themselves on the paths of inclusive dialogue with UN assistance in accordance with the decisions of the Berlin Summit on Libya and UN Security Council resolution 2510, including its anti-terrorism provisions", the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
On Wednesday, Libyan National Army (LNA) Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar announced the cessation of all hostilities in the country in connection with the onset of the holy month of Ramadan.
