OREANDA-NEWS  In the International ranking as regard corruption, compiled annually by Transparency International, Russia received 30 points, which corresponds to 129th place out of 180. Gabon, Malawi, Mali and Azerbaijan have the same amount of points.

Like a year ago, the situation in Russia was worse than in Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Georgia. These countries respectively scored 31, 33, 38, 47, 49 and 56 points - this corresponds to 124th, 121st, 94th, 63rd, 60th and 45th places in the ranking.

In last year's study, Russia received 137th place, the country rose eight points over the year. Nevertheless, the Transparency International organization describes the index value at the moment as "a very high level of perception of corruption."

The main one for Transparency International rating is a survey of experts and entrepreneurs conducted by independent organizations. In Russia, data collection for the ranking was carried out in 2019, which means that it did not reflect the socio-political events of the last year, which could significantly affect the perception of corruption in Russia.

As it is noted in the report, many years system fight against corruption isn't carried out to Russia, instead of it there are single criminal cases and pointed changes in the legislation.
