Russian Defense Ministry: NATO Supplies Ukraine with Weapons under the Guise of Military Exercises
OREANDA-NEWS. The Sea Breeze 2021 joint exercise is a cover for the transfer of modern weapons and ammunition from the United States to Ukraine, said Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense. Later, this equipment will be forwarded to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nationalists in the Donbass.
According to him, despite the maritime status of the military exercises, "the true boundaries of military activity go far beyond the Ukrainian section of the Black Sea."
Konashenkov clarified that the maneuvers will take place at ranges in the Kherson and Nikolaev regions from June 28 to July 10. They are attended by Ukraine, USA, Canada, Great Britain, Turkey and a number of other countries. A total of about 4 thousand soldiers and officers, 40 warships and boats, 30 aircraft, as well as 100 armored vehicles and cars.
In particular, according to the general, in Ukraine they will work out the interaction of special forces of various nationalities "in the joint performance of tasks, as well as parachute and assault landing from helicopters, including at night."
Konashenkov told reporters that "it is there, under the guise of the exercise, that it is planned to deliver modern weapons, ammunition and material property for the Ukrainian troops."
Then, as in previous years, all this will be sent to Donbass, he added.
According to legend, the troops of NATO and their partners will deal with the stabilization of the crisis situation. It arose due to the actions of some illegal armed groups, which are supported by the neighboring state, Konashenkov said.
The Ministry of Defense intends to "closely monitor the process of preparation and conduct of" NATO military exercises and, if necessary, respond appropriately and quickly to the evolving situation in the interests of ensuring Russia's military security. "
