OREANDA-NEWS Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Charge d'Affaires of Norway in Russia S. Rossebe, who was told that it is unacceptable to block cargo to Spitsbergen, according to the website of the ministry, Gazeta.ru reported.

Also, the Foreign Ministry added that this situation is unacceptable, as critical goods to ensure the functioning of the Trust and the Consulate General of Russia are blocked at the Russian-Norwegian border.

Earlier, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected Russia's application for the passage of goods for the settlements on Spitsbergen. According to the TV channel E24, at the Storskug checkpoint there are about 20 tons of goods, including seven tons of food, which are intended for Russian settlements.

Earlier, the chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Law and State Building Andrei Klishas expressed the opinion that the refusal of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to let food cargo to Spitsbergen, where Russian rotational workers live, calls into question Norway's sovereignty over the island.
