OREANDA-NEWS  Those who do not get vaccinated will not be able to enter public and private facilities, including schools, shops, shopping centers, markets, restaurants, cafes, concert venues and public transportation. Since August 9, unvaccinated people will not be let abroad, writes The Wall Street Journal.

The Saudi Arabian authorities explained that they took such a step due to the difficult epidemiological situation around the world. Many countries are now tightening coronavirus restrictions due to the rapid spread of the "delta" strain of SARS-CoV-2.

California and New York have introduced vaccine requirements for government employees this week. France, Italy and other European countries have also announced that they will soon introduce special passes allowing access to indoor spaces (restaurants and gyms).

In the United Arab Emirates, access to most public places in the capital Abu Dhabi will be restricted next month. The restrictions in the UAE downtown Dubai are not so significant, although vaccination confirmation is already required in local bars and restaurants. Israel, which became the leader in vaccination in the early stages of the pandemic, introduced a vaccine passport in February.

Saudi Arabia has promised for three years not to let abroad those who will now visit the country from the "red list". Among them are Afghanistan, Argentina and Brazil. "Anyone who has visited these countries will be held legally liable and subject to severe fines upon return", -  the authorities said.
