The leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), candidate for Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz, answering a question about relations with Russia and Ukraine, said that the future of Europe depends on good cooperation with neighbors and recognition of the inviolability of borders.
“The future of Europe will also depend on the creation of good cooperation between the EU and its neighbors. It will depend on how well everyone perceives the further progress of EU integration ... One of the most important points for good economic cooperation is the recognition of immunity borders, "Scholz said at a press conference.
Elections to the Bundestag were held in Germany on 26 September. The parties will now begin probing talks for a possible coalition formation. According to preliminary data, the largest faction will be held by the Social Democrats who won the elections - 206 deputies. The CDU / CSU faction will consist of 196 representatives, the Greens from 118, the Free Democrats from 92, the Alternatives for Germany from 83. The Left will be represented by 39 deputies - although the party did not overcome the 5% barrier, it received three direct mandate and due to the norms of the electoral legislation gets the faction corresponding to 4.9% of the seats in the Bundestag.
