Seven People Died, 20 were Injured as a Result of a Gas Explosion in Noginsk
OREANDA-NEWS. In Noginsk, near Moscow, rescuers extracted the body of the seventh person who died in a gas explosion in a residential building from under the rubble. This was reported on Thursday, September 9, in the regional State Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The number of injured was 20 people. In the Bogorodsky district of the Moscow region, a three-day mourning was declared for the victims.
In the early morning of September 8, an explosion occurred in a nine-story house in Noginsk. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as a result of the explosion, the floors from the first to the third floor collapsed, as well as the partial destruction of the building from the fifth to the third floor, 17 apartments were completely destroyed. Windows were broken in neighboring houses, balconies were damaged, windows of cars parked in the courtyard were broken.
According to preliminary data, the main version of the explosion is a gas leak from the stove, which the residents left on overnight to warm the apartment. A criminal case has been initiated on the provision of services that do not meet security requirements.
On the same day, a gas explosion occurred in a multi-storey building in Yekaterinburg, 36 residents were evacuated from the house. «There are no destructions of the building's supporting structures. There is information about one victim», the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement.
