OREANDA-NEWS. Three-time world champion in the Brazilian national team, 80-year-old Pele (Edson Arantes do Nascimento) was vaccinated against coronavirus on Tuesday, March 2. The king of football announced this in his Instagram account. According to the «G1» portal, Pele was vaccinated at home with the «Coronavac» vaccine, developed by the Chinese pharmaceutical company «Sinovac Biotech».

In his post, Pele noted, that the pandemic continues and we need to be disciplined to save lives until many people take the vaccine. The footballer advised to wash hands more often and stay at home, if it's possible. He also reminded of the need to use masks and observe social distance.

There are 10,647,845 cases of coronavirus infection in Brazil. Over the past day, the number of infected people has increased by 58,237. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Brazil is 257,562, with 1,726 deaths recorded today, on March 3.
