OREANDA-NEWSPresident of the Republic of Korea Moon Zhe Ying on Monday during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the Hong Kong problem should be considered a matter of China’s domestic policy.

"The South Korean side believes that Hong Kong’s affairs, as well as the issue of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, belong to the domestic policy of China", the Central Television of China quotes the president of South Korea. According to Moon Jae-In, Korea and China are united by ancient cultural ties and the leadership of the two countries, taking this into account, should use the opportunities at the current stage so that relations between Seoul and Beijing enter a new stage of fruitful interaction.

"South Korea expresses understanding about the position that China takes in resolving important issues. In particular, we support free trade and are ready to continue to strengthen cooperation with China in the discussion of regional and international issues", the president summed up.
