OREANDA-NEWS Former French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen said that the new anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union, including those against the oil industry, will have a disastrous effect on France. She said this in an interview with France 2 TV channel, Gazeta.ru reports.

She added that even if Europe refuses Russian oil and gas, Moscow will sell its resources to other countries. Le Pen said that it was not worth introducing restrictions on Russia before European countries had agreed on additional supplies of raw materials from other countries.

Earlier, the leaders of the European Union agreed on a sixth package of sanctions against Russia. The new restrictions will affect imports of oil from Russia, the country's largest bank, state media and citizens.

At the same time, the EU embargo on imports of Russian fuel will not apply to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
