OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the country is successfully coping with external challenges triggered by Western sanctions. A video of a meeting on economic issues with the head of state has been posted on the Kremlin website.

According to the President, inflation in Russia is gradually slowing down and is approaching the Central Bank targets.

At the same time, the head of state noted that the citizens of the European Union and the poorest countries will face the most difficult consequences due to the sanctions imposed by the West against Russia. He stressed that the restrictive measures imposed against Moscow are largely contributing to the global crisis. The president drew attention to the sharp rise in inflation in Europe.

In early May, the Russian government approved a list of foreign legal entities subject to special economic measures. The list included 31 companies from Europe and the United States.
