OREANDA-NEWSNationalism has become a factor that has led to the intensification of the coronavirus pandemic. This opinion was expressed by the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (pictured).

He said that, first of all, this affected the distribution of resources, and now it may affect the effectiveness of the distribution of the vaccine - "vaccine nationalism", in his opinion, poses a great danger.

“To act strategically and globally is in fact in the interests of every country. No one is safe, while everyone is not safe, ”Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus stressed.

On August 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the registration of the first coronavirus vaccine, stating that Russia was the first country to register the drug. The President stressed that the vaccine has passed all the necessary checks. The head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that the drug had shown safety and high efficiency.

Pharmaceutical companies have been urged to postpone vaccine registration as the quality of the product is still unknown. The Ministry of Health said that there is no reason to postpone registration, since vaccine research is carried out in compliance with international standards.
