OREANDA-NEWS. With the decision not only to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine, but also to train Ukrainian soldiers, Germany set itself up and Europe, Bundestag deputy Jacqueline Nasticch told Junge Welt.

“The government is exposing the whole of Europe to a completely uncontrollable danger, which, in the worst case, could end in a nuclear war,” she warned.

She called the steps of the German authorities irresponsible.

She is convinced that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz saw this danger, but succumbed to pressure in his coalition.

Until now, Germany has been of the opinion that the training of Ukrainian soldiers does not cross the red line on the way to entering the conflict, which, in particular, was mentioned by government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit.

Earlier, Scholz, in an interview with the ZDF television channel, said that NATO would not be directly involved in the Ukrainian crisis.

“From the very beginning, I said that there would be no direct participation of NATO, including Germany, in this war. The American president said this to his citizens, others did too,” he said.

According to the head of the German Cabinet, countries in recent decades have managed to maintain peace, because "there was enough rationality" to talk about the absence of a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO.

As the chancellor recalled, he said from the very beginning that NATO, including Germany, would not be directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine.
