The Foreign Ministry Named Countries Less Affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic
OREANDA-NEWS. According to the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Morgulov, the coronavirus pandemic affected the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and China to a lesser extent, and the successful measures taken strengthened people's faith in the sovereignty of states.
At the Forum on Conjugation of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, the Deputy Foreign Minister said via video link that they are happy to state that the epidemiological situation in the EAEU zone and in China is better than in other regions and countries of the world.
According to Morgulov, the pandemic has challenged both the global economy and human health. We have to admit that serious violations have occurred in transport links, and in trade relations, and in value chains. All these changes and events have resulted in a global recession.
He noted that the pandemic has served as both an impetus for some long-needed changes that can actually change people's lives for the better. First of all, this concerns the digitalization of many areas.
According to Igor Morgulov, the successful measures to combat the spread of the virus, which were taken in the EurAsEC states, in China, show and strengthen people's belief in the intrinsic value of a strong and truly sovereign state and its ability to solve such large-scale tasks that they face.
