OREANDA-NEWS. The Kremlin spoke about Kiev's refusal to purchase the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.

In response to Ukraine's refusal, the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said: "If Ukraine does not want the Russian vaccine, other countries will get more that ask for this vaccine and are ready to accept it with gratitude."

According to him, "the authorities are making" titanic efforts "to cover the demand after providing this drug to all Russians."

Peskov added that "the global demand for the Russian vaccine is so great that the production potential now does not allow meeting it promptly."

The Kremlin is confident that there are many people in Ukraine who would like to be implanted with Sputnik V, and the unwillingness of the country's leadership to use it is the position of an absolute minority.

Earlier, the Ukrainian leader, commenting on the possibility of vaccination of the country's residents against COVID-19 with the Russian drug Sputnik V, stated that there was no official information about the effectiveness of the vaccine from Russia and added that “Ukrainians are not rabbits,” you cannot experiment on them. The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada explained Zelenskaya's refusal to purchase the Russian vaccine for fear of rapprochement with Russia. According to him, "outside managers will then accuse him of meeting Moscow halfway."
