According to a statement released on Friday by the Wuhan City Health Committee (the administrative center of Hubei Province), the condition of 11 patients is assessed as grave, with 121 more under medical supervision.

"As of 08:00 (03:00 Moscow time) on January 3, 2020, unexplained viral pneumonia was diagnosed in 44 patients, in 11 of them the disease is severe, in the remaining patients the main indicators of the state of the body remain stable", document.

"All infected are treated in medical facilities in Wuhan in isolated conditions. To date, 121 people who have had close contacts with the infected have been identified, they are under the supervision of doctors. Work to establish other people who had close contacts with the infected continues", said in a statement.

It also states that epidemiologists still identify the causative agent and causes of an unknown form of pneumonia. "The causative agent and cause of the disease are established (including nucleic acid searches and virus cultivation).
