OREANDA-NEWS The number of employees of Russian consulates general in the Czech Republic, as well as the Czech Republic in the Russian Federation, will not change. This information is reported by the newspaper Blesk, making a reference to the head of the Czech Foreign Ministry, Jakub Kulganek.

Since Russia has not yet taken any steps in relation to the general consulates of the Czech Republic in Russia, no reciprocal steps are expected from the Czech government, reports Jakub Kulganeka.

Earlier, Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulganek said that since Russia did not respond to Prague's demand to return to Moscow 20 deported employees of its embassy, the size of the Russian embassy in Prague will be reduced to the same number as the Czech embassy in Moscow. He later explained that 63 employees of the Russian embassy would have to leave the Czech Republic by the end of May.

On April 17, the Czech authorities announced their decision to expel 18 Russian diplomats. According to European media reports, the expelled diplomats were members of Russian intelligence and worked undercover.

Moscow categorically rejects these allegations. In response to Prague's actions, the Russian Foreign Ministry declared 20 Czech diplomats persona non grata.
