OREANDA-NEWS. In the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, 120 people died from dengue fever, including about 90 children. The epicenter of the disease was the Firozabad district. An outbreak of dengue has also occurred in the districts of Mathura, Eta and Mainpuri. Two-thirds of the cases are children. This is reported by The Times of India newspaper.

It is noted that about 12 thousand patients with fever are being treated in hospitals. Almost 5 thousand patients with suspected dengue are placed in 64 special centers. All of them are under the supervision of doctors. Due to the outbreak of dengue in Uttar Pradesh, classes of schoolchildren from the first to the eighth grades have been stopped.

Earlier it was reported that in Uttar Pradesh, almost 70 people died from an unknown disease in a week. According to the Ministry of Health of India, the disease is accompanied by a very high temperature and severe dehydration. This disease is very similar in symptoms to dengue fever, which is carried by mosquitoes.
