OREANDA-NEWS “Now we have a high infectivity of the SARS-CoV-2 strain, and compared to modern SARS, influenza and so on, the lethality is almost 100 times higher. People need to bring home to their heads: if you are not vaccinated and get sick with coronavirus, then you have a 1 in 30 chance of dying”, - explained Bolibok.

The immunologist also assessed the chances of people avoiding death from coronavirus after vaccination.

“If we talk about our vaccines and old strains, then out of 100 vaccinated only 3 people will get sick when they come into contact with the coronavirus. And of these three vaccinated patients, none will die. They will not have a severe course of COVID that will lead to death. That is, if you are vaccinated, you have a zero chance of dying from COVID”, - Bolibok said.

The specialist added that the vaccines existing in the world are ready to withstand even the Indian strain of coronavirus.

“The effectiveness of the vaccine against the Indian strain was tested using vaccines from other manufacturers, not Russian ones, since our vaccine is not supplied to India. All registered vaccines are more than 90% effective. That is, 90 out of 100 people will not get sick. Against the Indian strain, their effectiveness drops to 70%, that is, 70 out of 100 people do not get sick, and the remaining 30 will get mild or moderate illness, but there are no deaths either”, - said the immunologist.
