OREANDA-NEWSSki slopes on Mount Elbrus will be opened on December 5, partly due to the small amount of snow, the press service of the Resort Elbrus JSC told reporters on Wednesday. Previously it was planned that from Thursday all the tracks will be open for skiing.

"On December 5, downhills for skiers will partially open on Mount Elbrus, now weather conditions do not allow to open the resort in full. The upper Gara-Bashi - Mir track will open for skiing, on which snow cover meets the requirements. Mir tracks - "Horizon" and "Horizon" - "Azau" are closed for descents, because the amount of snow is not enough for comfortable and safe riding", the message says.

It's noted that the cost of a special daily rate before the opening of all routes is reduced: now it's 1400 rubles for adults and 700 rubles for children. The opening of the anniversary winter season 2019-2020 at the Elbrus ski resort, which was scheduled for November 30, was postponed due to insufficient snow. For the first time, the cable car started here 50 years ago - January 12, 1970.
