OREANDA-NEWS Ukraine's ambassador to Bulgaria Vitaliy Moskalenko has sent an official request to the country's Foreign Ministry with a request to supply weapons, RIA Novosti reported.

According to him, the note was sent on June 3. Moskalenko also added that he had sent similar requests to other relevant institutions. According to the ambassador, Ukraine needs Soviet weapons, namely howitzers and missile systems, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces can cope with.In addition, Moskalenko said that 80 Ukrainian tanks will be repaired by the Bulgarian side.

Earlier, Bulgarian Prime Minister Kirill Petkov said that he believed in NATO, so he was not afraid of a response from Russia in case of arms supplies to Ukraine. He noted that Poland, Romania, Germany, France, Great Britain and the USA already support Ukraine and have no direct conflict with Russia.

In April, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said that he was against providing military assistance to Ukraine.
