OREANDA-NEWSWuhan authorities in the Chinese province of Hubei reported that cases of pneumonia of unknown origin were continuously detected in the city. “In connection with the continuous detection of cases of pneumonia of unknown origin, we ask all medical institutions to keep statistics and monitor the situation with patients and immediately report it”, the city health committee said on Monday.

The ministry confirmed to local media that doctors are figuring out what kind of spread the disease belongs to, and patients receive isolated treatment.
According to authorities, in December in Wuhan, 27 cases of viral pneumonia were recorded, seven people are in extremely serious condition. Two more are on the mend and will be discharged soon.

Specialists from the State Health Committee of China arrived in Wuhan. In China, outbreaks of SARS have occurred several times before. According to the WHO, during the epidemic in 2002-2003 in mainland China, about 350 people died of the disease, and the total number of cases exceeded 5 thousand. In total, about 8.5 thousand cases of the disease were recorded in 30 countries of the world, more than 900 people died.
