According to court documents, Burkov was the administrator of the Cardplanet website, where credit and debit card data stolen mainly through hacking was sold. It is noted that many of them belonged to US citizens. According to documents, using the stolen data that was sold on Burkov’s website, attackers made purchases of more than $ 20 million.

The Justice Ministry notes that the Russian, presumably, owned another site, access to which was provided by invitation. There, hackers could, for example, “advertise” stolen personal data or virus programs, as well as offer hacking or money laundering services.
