According to them, the incident occurred on October 2 in the Indo-Pacific region. None of the crew members received life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision, and the submarine is in a «safe and stable position», the US Navy noted. According to the United States Naval Institute, about ten sailors received minor injuries or moderate injuries. The collision occurred in the South China Sea, the submarine in a surface position headed for the US Navy base on the island of Guam in the western Pacific Ocean, the organization said.
