OREANDA-NEWS. Members of sexual minorities who enter into a same-sex union cannot receive a blessing in the Roman Catholic Church.

This was announced on March 15 by the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, the oldest and main of the nine Congregations of the Roman Curia, which is responsible for monitoring the orthodoxy and purity of doctrine and morality preached in the Roman Catholic Church.

Congregation cardinals and archbishops believe that same-sex marriage does not meet the very definition of "marriage" - the union between a man and a woman, during which a new life is born.

At the same time, it is noted that the Roman Catholic Church does not deny the right to bless those representatives of non-traditional orientation who "seek to nurture their faith."

Earlier, Pope Francis has repeatedly expressed his spiritual concern for gay people, pointing out that they should not be rejected by their family, to whose love they are entitled. The pontiff also allowed the divorced to return to communion.

Earlier, the Pope expressed the opinion that humanity could face a second Flood. According to the clergyman, if a catastrophe happens, it will be associated with global warming. The Pontiff pointed out the need to combat global warming. He also called on citizens and politicians to be prudent. The Pope is convinced that people need to more often show sympathy for their neighbors, the world and its problems
