OREANDA-NEWS. In a message published on October 29 on the website of the Ukrainian president's office, Vladymyr Zelenskyy convened an urgent meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) in connection with the abolition of a number of anti-corruption norms by the country's Constitutional Court.

As it became known on Tuesday, October 27, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, at the request of the Rada deputies, recognized as unconstitutional criminal liability for false information when officials filed declarations on property, as well as a number of powers of the National Anti-Corruption Committee of Ukraine.

During the meeting, Council members will discuss measures to be taken in the current situation. The bills developed in the future, aimed at preventing the emergence of such crises, will be sent by the president to the Verkhovna Rada as urgent.

According to the President of Ukraine, the opposition to the country's achievements in the field of combating and effectively countering corruption in Ukraine cannot be ignored. Zelensky believes that an immediate and harsh assessment of the decisions of individual actors is necessary, whose actions become socially dangerous.

According to the head of state, recently, certain subjects of law are “trying to revise the key parts of the social contract,” providing for “zero tolerance” to corruption and everything that is not transparent in the sphere of public administration.
