OREANDA-NEWS. The increase in coronavirus infections in Europe is explained by the insufficient level of vaccination, the presence of the delta strain and weather conditions. For these reasons, the European region has once again found itself in the epicenter of a pandemic. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the use of measures to contain the spread of the virus, for example, wearing masks or maintaining social distance, is also unstable in European countries. Currently, the main distributor of coronavirus is unvaccinated people.

«We urge everyone who is eligible for vaccination to take advantage of this opportunity and be sure to undergo a full vaccination cycle. This is especially important for priority groups, such as people aged 60 and older, as well as people with weakened immunity», the WHO European Office said.

The organization also recalled the importance of observing all preventive measures. Wearing masks, hand hygiene, adequate ventilation in the premises ensure maximum protection of society from the virus, the WHO summed up.
