OREANDA-NEWSPresident Xi Jinping will attend the emergency G20 summit on combating coronavirus. This is stated in a statement issued on Wednesday by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying.

"President Xi Jinping on March 26 in Beijing will take part in an emergency G20 summit on pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus", the text says. The G20 Summit will be held in a video conference format. During it, coordination will be discussed to combat the spread of coronavirus and the economic consequences of the pandemic. Saudi Arabia presides over the G20 this year, a traditional annual G20 Summit is scheduled in the kingdom for November.

The Kremlin’s press service informed on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate in the videoconference.
