OREANDA-NEWSKiev supports the position of Warsaw, which believes that the responsibility for the outbreak of World War II lies with the USSR. This was announced by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky at a briefing following a meeting with Polish leader Andrzej Duda, Strana.ua reports.

According to the Ukrainian president, Poland was the first of the countries that "felt the collusion of totalitarian regimes". Zelensky believes that this is precisely what led to the outbreak of World War II and "allowed the Nazis to launch the deadly flywheel of the Holocaust". Speaking at a briefing, the Ukrainian leader called on democracies to unite and "not be silent, as it was in 1939". “Only the unity of the world can fight back any aggression and save humanity from new suffering”, he said.

Speaking about the relations between Kiev and Warsaw, the Ukrainian president said that the parties were able to "reduce the degree of emotions relative to the past". “From now on, in our relations we will focus on what unites us", he said and added that a number of joint events are planned in the future, including the visit of Duda to Ukraine.
