OREANDA-NEWS  Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Hungary, and talks with Prime Minister Viktor Orban and President Tamas Shujok are scheduled for Thursday.

"Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Budapest a couple of minutes before 21.00 (22.00 Moscow time). The official program begins on Thursday, he will be received by Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the Buda Fortress," the message says.

It is noted that Xi Jinping last visited Hungary 15 years ago. This time, he arrived in Budapest with his wife for the first time, and a joint lunch is also planned for Thursday, where Orban's wife will be present.

Xi Jinping is also scheduled to meet with Hungarian President Shujok on Thursday, and then a signing ceremony will take place at the residence of the Hungarian government.

Xi Jinping is on a European tour on May 5-10, during which he visits France, Serbia and Hungary.

Earlier, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said that Xi Jinping would discuss a peaceful settlement in Ukraine with the President and Prime Minister of Hungary during his visit to Budapest, and the Chinese delegation would sign 16 to 18 treaties.
