OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2008. Several months had passed since the Avaza National Project was presented and the territory of the future sea resort turned into a vast construction site. Hoisting cranes, reinforced concrete structures, dozens of bulldozers, dump trucks and excavators, the high-rise buildings of comfortable hotels mirrored in the glassy surface of the sea – it is what the future tourist zone attracting world’s attention looks like today.

Avaza starts from its roads. One can understand it upon approaching the resort. The branched network of motorways, which will cross the tourist zone so that everyone can reach any part in a few minutes, is under construction. High-powered machines tirelessly excavate the riverbed of the future river, which will centre on a local architectural ensemble. Even now, surveying the future riverbed under construction in the midst of the picturesque dells can imagine what the man-made river will look like.

There is another construction site on the other bank of the river – on a strip of land between the river and the splendid beaches of Avaza: the work is in full swing – some of the high-rise hotels constructed there at the request of the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan are to be put into operation this year. The hotels, recreation and health-improving centres are constructed for adults and children.

Avaza’s advantages are the unique natural conditions of the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea coast. The strict demands made to all building owners and contractors are to meet the environmental requirements. The future tourism zone will be a wonderful garden, a blossoming oasis on the Caspian Sea coast. It will be inhabited with ‘green dwellers’ – thousands of trees and bushes. The builders try to preserve the existing green plantations; enjoying the view of the crowns of pine-trees one can imagine future green splendour of the resort.

The foreign companies invest in the Avaza National Project. One can find the construction sites allocated to the foreign companies not only on the map but also at the distance. Russian Itera is building an elite hotel there and Turkish Engin Group is building a business centre here, Polimeks, and Ichkale and many other foreign companies are building comfortable cottages, villas and bungalows.

The draft designs and local area development plans we saw in the room the main architect of Turkmenbashi town acquire the clear lines on-site. Even now one can realize how much the look of the seaside is going to change.
