OREANDA-NEWS  Four major Chinese banks have recently refused to accept payments from Russia due to the threat of secondary US sanctions. The source of Izvestia said that the new participants in the list were China's largest bank ICBC, as well as China Citic Bank, Industrial Bank and Bank of Taizhou.

The tightening appeared at the end of March. At that moment, the payment situation as a whole deteriorated sharply, because about 80 percent of transactions began to return. Alexey Egarmin, Director General of the Business Council at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, noted that payments for industrial goods have become especially complicated, consumer products have suffered to a lesser extent.

The interlocutor of the publication stressed that in April it became very difficult to deliver equipment from China and no changes are expected in May.

In turn, Alexey Razumovsky, commercial director of Impaya Rus, warned that smaller organizations that had previously been more loyal to payments from Russia began to follow the example of large banks. A particular difficulty arises in the lack of certainty. A payment can hang unprocessed for a long time, and then it is rejected without explanation, and you have to start all over again.
