OREANDA-NEWS  Egypt sees opportunities to work with Russia in the face of Western sanctions and knows how to solve problems. This was announced by the country's Finance Minister Mohammed Maait on the sidelines of the spring conference of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, RIA Novosti reports.

He acknowledged that sometimes restrictive measures have an impact on cooperation, but in general, Cairo understands the principles of interaction with Moscow. Maait also said that the parties are still discussing the acceptance of the "Peace" cards in Egypt.

Earlier, banks in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan refused to work with the Mir payment system. The reason for this decision was the danger of secondary US sanctions and threats to national payment systems. In addition, the largest banks in Kazakhstan have stopped servicing Mir cards.
