OREANDA-NEWS  VTB retail customers in 2023 made more than 85 thousand transfers of funds abroad for a total amount of 17.8 billion rubles. This is three times more than a year earlier, the bank's press service reports. They noted that 90 percent of Russians' transfers fall on operations with friendly Belarus and Kazakhstan.

VTB conducts up to a thousand cross-border money transfers per day. The most popular way to transfer funds to a financial organization was called a transfer by bank account details.

This year, the bank plans to increase the number of countries available for transfers from the current 11 to 25 and make it so that transactions do not need to open a current account in the national currency and exchange it. Customers are promised that they will soon be able to make transactions abroad directly from their ruble account. Meanwhile, the volume of money transfers from Russia to Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2023 soared fourfold at once, to 76.6 million dollars. Last year, it amounted to a record 357 billion tenge (775.4 million dollars) in the history of statistics.

A large increase in remittances from Russia in 2022 was also recorded in Georgia — five times (up to $ 2.06 billion), and Armenia with a four-fold increase ($3.6 billion). Transfers from Russia to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have also increased on a record.
